Privacy Policy

Schuyler Now collects only the information needed to operate its local-information services, review submissions, respond to messages, and maintain website security.

Information you choose to provide

Contact information is kept private unless a form clearly asks you to provide information for public display.

How information is used

Schuyler Now does not sell contact information to advertisers.

Storage and security

Private submission records and email settings are stored outside the public website directory with restricted access. Reasonable technical measures are used to protect them, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Basic web-server logs may record technical information such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, and time of access for security and troubleshooting.

Location and device permissions

Features such as “Near Me” or transit lookup may request browser location permission. Location access occurs only after you choose to use the feature and approve the browser prompt. The browser will show and control that permission.

Third-party services

Maps, webcams, weather layers, source links, and other embedded or linked services may be provided by outside organizations. Those services have their own privacy policies and may receive standard connection information when opened or loaded.

Website analytics

Schuyler Now uses Google Analytics to understand overall website use and improve the site. Google Analytics may process pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser information, referring source, and interactions such as Scanner audio plays, incident-card openings, notification preference actions, Seneca Insider Pass clicks, advertising interest, and successful contact-form submissions.

Schuyler Now does not send contact-form names, email addresses, message contents, exact browser location, or Scanner audio to Google Analytics. Analytics information is used in aggregate to understand which public features are useful and to prepare general traffic reports.

Push notifications

If you choose to enable browser push notifications, Schuyler Now uses OneSignal to create and manage the browser subscription needed to deliver alerts. OneSignal may process device and browser information, a push subscription identifier, notification permission status, and the two optional topic preferences you select: Scanner Incidents and School Closings & Delays.

No email address or phone number is required for browser push. Essential local alerts are included with every active subscription. You can turn notifications off from the notification preferences page or through your browser settings.

Questions or requests

To ask about a message or submission, request a correction, or raise a privacy concern, use the contact page or email info@SchuylerNow.com.
